Jenna Blue’s primary practice areas are federal criminal appeals and family law. She also has defended clients in state court who have been charged with serious felony offenses that include drug charges, theft crimes, and probation violations. She has authored several Fourth Circuit appellate briefs and argued a case of first impression in that court concerning the extent to which the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure apply to the indefinite civil commitment and detention of sex offenders under 18 U.S.C. §4248.
Prior to joining Blue LLP, Jenna worked as an Assistant Public Defender in the Wake County Office of the Public Defender. During her time there, she handled a broad range of criminal matters in both District and Superior Court, and obtained considerable bench and jury trial experience.
Jenna graduated from Vanderbilt University Law School in 2007. She completed her undergraduate studies at Duke University in 2003, where she majored in both Public Policy and History.
